The North Carolina Interscholastic Cycling League (NCICL), a project league of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), is seeking to fill open positions within our league staff to better support the teams and youth of North Carolina.
We are looking to both grow and diversify our team, and are actively interested in individuals from across the state with various experience, backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations.
Filling open positions, as well as developing support staff for existing positions, is critical to our future success as we continue to experience explosive growth and continue to offer expanded programs and opportunities for NC’s youth to become a part of our thriving and engaged NICA community.
We are also seeking to train additional race staff to help support and lead various roles throughout race weekend – so please feel free to reach out if you are interested in helping! Even if we do not have a position listed that quite fits your skills/interests I’m sure we can find a spot for you to fit right at home in!
Open League Level Positions:
COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER – The Communications Manager oversees the league communications including, but not limited to: Race reports; Singletrack Times; Coaches Conversation; social media (Instagram, Facebook) and; league-level press-releases. The Communications Manager works closely with the League Director and NICA’s Communications and Marketing Manager. Commitment:
- Ideal commitment is 1+ seasons
- Available for all League Events
- Attend League calls (Mondays 8:00pm – weekly during the race season) as needed
SPONSORSHIP and DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR – The Sponsorship and Development Director serves as a key leadership team member and an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting the North Carolina Interscholastic Cycling League (NCICL). This volunteer position is responsible for coordinating and managing all fundraising and development activities. The successful candidate will help forge new relationships to build NCICL’s visibility, impact, and financial resources. - Maintain regular communication with the League Director
- Attend monthly League Director calls
Open Race Production Positions:
OPERATIONS ASSISTANT (Multiple Positions Available) – The Operations Assistant works with the Operations Manager to set-up, run and take-down NICA races. The Ops Assistants will have areas of the race they are responsible for setting up and running (such as the Feed Zone, finish truss, camping area and pitzone – among other areas). The Operations Assistants are also available to take on various projects and tasks as directed by the Operations Manager. They will also have periods where they’re leading volunteers on setting up infield items such as snow fencing. The Operations Assistants are the dedicated physical force in making NICA races happen.
